Yahweh to Yoga

Yahweh (Yaw-weigh) -The name of GOD in the HEBREW BIBLE and Israel.

Yama (Hinduism) -The god of the dead.

Yantra (Hinduism) -A illustration intended for MEDITATION.

Yarmulke-A skullcap that is worn by Jewish males, especially during RELIGIOUS study or during prayer.

Yin/Yang-The polar opposites of a single principle: hard/soft, dark/light, etc. Yin is seen as female, passive, receptive, soft, and yielding. Yang is seen as male, active, hard, and aggressive. If you can understand this idea you have found THE WAY. Everything is a movement or interplay from one opposite to the other. For every action there is a reaction. This movement is seen to help one flow with the forces of nature, rather than fight them. Embrace the opposites as one, and you have found the essence of flow.

Yoga-A technique of concentration that evolved in India which "yokes" the power of the mind, in which the participant acquires an intense, heightened AWARENESS of reality, and brings with it a sense of SERENITY.
