This PHILOSOPHY advocates and teaches following the natural flow of things in the universe. A way of accepting and being aware of the ways of the universe, and flowing with that notion so as to have a more accepting look on life. It is thought that one must harmonize with the powers and energies of the universe, and therefore achieve a state of SPIRITUAL harmony and freedom with the YIN and YANG (non-being and being). Supreme serenity, spontaneous, non-aggressive, unassertive behavior is emphasized... flow with change. Gentle, but courageous engagement with life. The followers of often practice control of the CHI (vital energy or life force). By nourishing the CHI, one can move from opposites and realize that those opposites are required for liberation of the SOUL from materialism. See also The TAO TE CHING.
