Jesus Christ-In CHRISTIANITY, the Son of GOD, and the DEMIGOD who was the mediator between the Creator, God and us. Some authors point out that Jesus never identified himself as a GOD, but a servant of God. Commonly thought of as the SAVIOR of human-kind, some say part human and part DIVINE, and is believed to have relieved us of all our sins, said to have been crucified and later resurrected in the days surrounding Easter, however, apparently there is some historical disagreement if the event really happened. Most texts indicate that something did happen on that date, and that something created a new FAITH, and was the cornerstone of CHRISTIANITY. Also called the second element of TRINITY. See CHRISTIANITY.

Judaism-The Jewish religion. The world's oldest surviving monotheistic religion of the Jewish people, whose origins go back to Abraham, and having its SPIRITUAL and ethical ideals embodied in the first five books of the OLD TESTAMENT, the TALMUD and the TORAH. Its basic principles reflect that GOD was (and is) the creator of the universe who cares for and saves the world. Judaism dictates that their spiritual attitude and beliefs should permeate all aspect of a person's life, and that there is no place for secular "compartments". Being observant of the TORAH and its teachings is the path to a rich life and REDEMPTION. Jews hope that GOD will send a MESSIAH who would bring all mankind under DIVINE rule. Jews do not believe that JESUS was that MESSIAH, however, CHRISTIANS do believe that JESUS was. Judaism is not a typical missionary-type religion, although it does allow serious-minded CONVERTS, but does not seek them.
