A Knock at the Door

The vampire knocks

Seeking precious sustenance

Asking politely

A slight gasp escapes

before the scream is held back

by a shaking hand

The vampire waits

Patiently contemplating

The woman next move

A werewolf approaches

And she suddenly opens

The frail screen door

The vampire turns

The werewolf cautiously stops

Awaiting the ghost

She grabs the large bowl.

And as she hands out treats says,

"Happy Halloween"
