An Cumann Siceach

"Well, I'm ready," Shannon told her mother. There's nothing to be worried about. You'll have fun. Promise," Victoria said to her daughter who was now staring out the window with furrowed brows.

Shannon wasn't sure what to expect. She had known her mother for fourteen years and never knew she was a psychic. Now in the span of several days she was going to have to face certain realities of her life and some of them were quite unbelievable. This knowledge included accepting her mother's hidden side. She couldn't help but wonder what else her parents were keeping secret.

The two women bundled up in their winter coats before leaving the house. Victoria was wearing a faux gray fox fur coat with a white Angora scarf. Shannon was wearing her new pink quilted coat with fleece lining. She carefully wrapped a pink and white striped scarf around her neck and chin. Bravely they opened the front door and set out on their short journey.

The air was crisp and the stars were shining brightly that evening. Shannon could see her breath freeze in the air before her. Her mother walked silently next to her. The only sound to be heard was their quick footsteps on the sidewalk.

Fifteen minutes and seven blocks later they arrived at their destination. Shannon stood at the white picket fence gate in front of Myrtle Green's house and hesitated. She was afraid of beginning something that would have no end. She knew she couldn't turn off the abilities she had but she wasn't sure she wanted to embrace them either.
