An Cumann Siceach

Thence come maidens who know much, Three from that hall beneath the tree: One was named Origin, the second Becoming.

These two fashioned the third, named Debt.

They established law, They selected lives For the children of ages, And the fates of men.

- Völuspà Night fell on the small town of Beeman and Shannon wondered what kind of meeting the secret society of psychics would have. The official name of the group according to Victoria was An Cumann Siceach. Everyone who belonged to the group had psychic gifts, all of which came in handy in reading the past, future and dealing with the present.

In Shannon's case, the past was her future. Everything depended on resolving the murder questions and she needed all of the help she could get. In addition to finding out who the real murderer was, someone was trying to stop her research. Why would anyone care about a double murder that happened over a century ago? Mr. Chickless had been hanged for the crime so what was the deep dark secret that had someone so upset? Shannon could have pondered that all evening but just then she heard her mother's voice calling her from downstairs.

The smell of burnt meat hung in the air from her father's attempt at cooking again. This time it was a failed attempt at frying hamburgers in a skillet. Brendan was incapable of doing two things at once. This time he had been on the phone with someone planning an estate sale and he had forgotten he was cooking. Shannon walked through the haze of blue smoke in the kitchen and walked down the hallway into the store, waving her hand in the air in front of her as she went.
