Chapter 42 - Page 2 of 5

In the Virginia countryside, Saturday…

"Stop it," said SW2. "It doesn't make sense to generate hysteria. We need a plan."

"Hysteria is a good, solid emotion," observed BH3, who happened to like SW3. "She's pretty when she's hysterical."

"All the SW's are pretty," said RP1. "Give it a rest. SW2 is right. We need a plan. GW3, how many Guardians are there at any one time?"

"There are always six," replied GW3. "And they have eight hour shifts. What are you thinking?"

"You're thinking we can take them, right?" said BH3, smacking his right fist into his left palm.

"They're armed," observed SW2.

"That's where it will get sticky. There are enough of us to overpower them, I think, but with the guns, we've got a problem."

"Fish nets," said GW3.

"What do you mean?" asked BH3.

"I saw it on the Discovery channel. They use fish nets to catch fish. If we drop a net over a Guardian, he can't get to his gun. Especially if the net's sticky."

"A sticky net? Where do we get that?" asked SW2.

He told them.

It took them the rest of the day to make the nets. They used twine and string from the arts and crafts class and various jams and jellies from the kitchen. Six brooms and twenty-four wire hangers made frames over which the gooey nets were draped.
