Lexington Park, Maryland, Friday & Saturday…

Jay, Dolores, Bouncer, and Sandra were sitting on Dolores' front porch when Sheriff Sam Fletcher drove up. He gestured for Jay to come to his car. She leaned in the open window and he pointed to the onboard computer screen.

"Oh, Dios mio!" she exclaimed. It was a DHS APB on Chris Tanner and Kalidas Metropolis: Wanted for Terrorist Acts. "You don't believe that, do you?"

The others crowded around the car.

"I don't know what to believe. I do have a suggestion, though, as a friend, not as the sheriff. I would find a nice hideout somewhere for awhile. Until this boils over. Now, let me roll the window back up. I'm losing my air-conditioning." He took off.

"What are we going to do?" asked Dolores. She looked pale. Bouncer and Sandra both shook their heads incredulously.

"Well, I've got to try and contact Asako, for one thing. Maybe she can help us at the FBI."

"Excuse me," said Sandra, "but aren't they part of the problem?" She had gripped Bouncer's arm so tight that Jay could see red blotches starting to appear, though the gentle giant seemed not to notice it.

"Well, we don't know that. And Asako certainly isn't. My other suggestion is that we each take hard copies of the stuff we found and split up. Go to a hideout like Sam said, but let's not say where, so they can't get it out of us. Bouncer, you go with Sandra, and Dolores and I will split up. That makes it three-way."
