Arlington Cemetery, Three Weeks Later…

"Well, I guess the government can't let the public see them," observed Simon Multani. He looked admiringly at the two Stephanie Williams look-alikes playing tennis. "Does Jay know about this?"

Asako smiled at him and winked at Kalidas.

"What Jay doesn't know won't hurt her in this case," said Kalidas. "And you two are the only ones from any of the agencies to know, so treat it as Top Secret. The National Security Advisor screens all people who work here. The irony is that I'm in charge, even though I don't have a DoD or DHS clearance anymore. I report directly to Pierce Hamilton."

"A lot of us do," said Simon.

At that moment, Jay, Dolores, and Chris were visiting Arlington cemetery. Dolores had been hiding out in Tennessee at an old friend's house. She had missed all the action. Jay considered that it was just as well, since she might have had a nervous breakdown, even if she had survived.

The two women between them carried three bouquets. The sun was hot, but there were a few black thunderheads overhead. Henry, Dolores' golden retriever, was at her side, his big, wet drooling tongue working overtime to cool him off.

Jay put a bouquet of flowers on each one of the three new graves. No name was on the gravestone, only the words: "Here lies an unknown soldier who gave his life for his country."
