Magic Death

The chains fell off Jess.

"I want you to see your friends defeated."

Jess stood. Two guards appeared right at his side.

"Any false moves and these two will kill you."

Jess saw uncertainty in their eyes.

"How can you let him do this to you?" Jess asked.

"Shut up, boy. Or I'll have them kill you now."

"Why don't you? You have all you want from me."

"I want you to see the end. I want you to see the execution of your friends. It's quite fascinating to see the precision with which the dagger darts work. After you watch them, you will experience it first hand."

One of Huskus' men appeared at his side.

"Master, they are massing at the front gates."

"Idiots, don't they know they can't breach the wall. Even those cursed dragerts do not have the power to break through. Play with them, Kush. When they attack, use the archers. We'll finish them off with the bluzzard."

Huskus walked toward the walls.

"Come along, Jess the journeyer, you shouldn't miss this."

A guard prodded him with a spear so Jess had no choice but to follow. Huskus led him to a short wall that encircled the entire area. Jess realized he and Huskus stood on the very top of a tower that doubled as the launching pad for the two remaining bluzzards. Below him was the wall that encircled the entire settlement. Guards lined the walls.
