Between the Worlds

"I am Rograth, and you had better be who Blonders says you are or I will impale you on a stick and roast you." To emphasize his point, Rograth spit flames that crackled less than a foot in front of his Jess' face before they disappeared."

"Who do you think I am?"

Jess frowned. Something seemed familiar to him, but he could not quite place it.

"It doesn't matter at the moment, but it won't take me long to find out."

"Blonders, tell me what's going on."

"Rograth accidentally shot down our bluzzard."

"I thought it belonged to HIM. I will not allow Huskus to come into my lands," Rograth answered. "We made a treaty a long time ago. He didn't bother me and I didn't bother him."

"I didn't know this," Blonders said. "Huskus always forbade us to fly over this part of the territory but he never told us why. Just to give you a hint of the fear Huskus has of you, he sent me over this area, risking the wrath of Rograth, just to get to you. Huskus has had men after you ever since you came into this world. Then, he thought the zyglots had captured you."

Jess said, "Sending the bluzzard into the area risked nothing. If it caught me, it would have served its purpose, and if it were shot down, then it would serve its purpose too by giving him a chance to send his army into this area."
