Alliance of Fear

Oglethaine spit fire at the bluzzard, but it bounced harmlessly off and hit the ground sizzling. Jess drifted off the ground.

"Oglethaine!" He yelled.

A well-disguised aircraft, definitely not a beast, the bluzzard opened fire with one of its weapons. A laser sliced the air, but Oglethaine dodged it. Jess could not hear himself over the drone of the craft, so he knew Oglethaine could not hear him. The craft's gun swiveled - he could hear the human pilot's thoughts as he aimed the weapon toward Oglethaine.

Jess believed if he could hear the pilot's thoughts then … the man flipped a switch.

"Oglethaine!" He screamed within his mind.

If this worked - the pilot hesitated as he reached for the button.

Get the zyglot! Under the belly's beast! He screamed mentally.

Hesitation in both the pilot and the dragon.

"He's my friend!"

Oglethaine flew. The pilot pressed the button. Jess disappeared into the ship. The hatch below him began to close as Jess hovered in the air a good ten feet.

"Into the belly!" he projected the thoughts within his mind outward. Oglethaine zipped through the hole in the bottom of the ship with the terrified Dainler clinging to his neck. The dragert reached out with his talon and grabbed Jess' shirt. The hatch clanged shut, and the beam blinked out. Jess would have fallen had not Oglethaine held him.

"I can't hold you all day. What next?"

A loud hum filled the room. The wall cracked open.
