Thursday afternoon two weeks after the Thanksgiving disaster; I had just gotten off of work and was driving to meet Kayla to plan for the bridal shower. Her wedding was a week away and we had a lot of last minute preparations to do. I stopped at a red light as my phone rang. I quickly answered as I saw Tony's number on the screen and put the phone on speaker.
"Hey babe, what's up?"
"Nothing much, I'm going to finish up early today so I thought we could go to dinner at Bessanio's."
"Ooh, sounds good. I'm meeting Kayla, but that shouldn't take long." The light turned green and I started driving through the intersection.
"Okay, I've got to go the client is here," Tony said. I looked over to see a black Toyota running the red light heading straight towards my van. There was no time to react or swerve; I didn't know what to do. Oh God no, please help me through this. "Tony!" I screamed as the car hit the passenger side. The phone went flying as I was tossed forward. My head hit the steering wheel as the airbag inflated. I could hear the crunch of metal against metal and the breaking of glass. Jake barked and I felt my leg snap as the chair was thrown forward.
"Caty!!!" Tony yelled through the phone. "Are you okay, sweetheart?" I could feel myself losing consciousness. Help me, Tony. "Please, babe," I heard him cry as everything turned black.
