Kayla's wedding day came quickly. Luckily, I had spent the entire week resting so I was more than ready to get out of the house and enjoy a wonderful day with friends. Tony was dressed up in a black tuxedo and I was wearing a light blue bridesmaid dress. I wore my hair down and used my bangs to cover the cut on my forehead. I hoped I looked okay, despite the cast and finger splints. Tony assured me that I looked beautiful, though I didn't feel it, I believed he meant it.
The wedding was at a little white chapel. I spent the morning helping Kayla get ready and before we knew it, it was time for the wedding to begin. I went down the aisle with Kyle, Derek's best man. We were followed by Haley and Tony, and then Auden and Derek's older brother Richard. Richard's daughter, Alexa, the flower girl came next, tossing rose petals left and right. Last to come out was Kayla who looked stunning in her long flowing white dress with a pearl bodice. Small white flowers were in her hair which was down around her shoulders.
When she reached the altar, she handed me the peony bouquet and then took Derek's hands. The ceremony was sweet, Tony and I stole knowing glances at each other as it went on. This will be us soon, and I can't wait to share these special moments with Tony. As the two of them said, 'I do', I mouthed: "I love you," to Tony. With a big grin, he said it back to me.
