Going Home

We were woken up when a guy from the lab came in to take my blood. I glanced at the clock on the wall and nearly groaned. 5:45? Couldn't they do a blood test at a more decent hour? I yawned.

"Sorry to wake you. This will only take a minute. Then you can go back to sleep." Right, how about we skip the drawing blood and I just go back to sleep? He set the tray down and took out a vial and needle. I didn't want to see, so I turned my head towards Tony. He was already awake, putting his hand on my face, he gazed at me. The guy put the tourniquet around my forearm. I winced at the pressure from it.

"Careful, not too tight. She has brittle bones," Tony said protectively.

"Oh right, sorry," he said, loosening it a bit and relieving some of the pressure.

I felt the poke of the needle and then a minute later the guy said. "All finished." He put a cotton ball over it and then taped it to my arm. He took off the tourniquet, picked up the tray and left the room.

Tony gently rubbed my arm. "I think we forgot to tell them we don't do mornings," he said yawning.

"Seriously, that is not a good way to get woken up."

Tony kissed my nose and I grinned. "What do you say we get a few more hours sleep?"
