Dinner and a Movie

It was six o'clock Friday afternoon, I had just taken a shower. Throwing on my bathrobe, with my hair still damp, I was sitting in the middle of my room amid a pile of clothes. I had no clue as to what to wear; I was nervous and a bit stressed that I wouldn't be ready in time.

I had been thinking all day about the date, where we were going, what we would talk about and whether or not we would kiss afterwards. I hadn't been on a date in a long time, being busy with work and refusing to get close to anyone after the last disaster. But, I was throwing caution to the wind, knowing I just wanted to be with him. It's worth the risk. I knew that I had never felt for anyone what I felt for Tony. So, now here I was getting ready for my first date with him. This thought made me more anxious and excited.

I heard the front door open as Kayla said: "Hello?"

"In here," I called back.

Kayla walked into the room; wearing a forest green blouse that matched her olive complexion and blue jeans with a pair of chucks. Her auburn hair was thrown back in a ponytail and her green eyes sparkled with amusement. "What in the world? It looks like a tornado went through here," she joked.

I threw my hands up in exasperation. "I've got no clue what to wear!"
