Karen wasn't sure he could even stand up again by himself much less find his bed. When the box lurched to a stop on the third floor, she grabbed his arm and pulled him to his tired feet. She ducked her head under his arm and supported him as they walked fitfully down the empty hall. An elderly couple walked out of their room heading down the hall towards them, staring at the pair as they passed, the old man shaking his head with disapproval as they went. Karen felt like letting them know exactly what the situation was and that they should be ashamed of assuming the worst, but gave up the idea having arrived at Isaiah's room and needing to deposit him on his bed before her shoulder gave out. Letting go of his arm, Karen watched as Izzy dropped to the bed with a moan. Rolling over to his side he didn't even bother to remove his shoes as he pulled a pillow under his head and tried to get comfortable. "Come on," she urged and pulled him back over onto his back, then lifted one foot from the floor, untied the shoe and pulled it free of his foot. She peeled off his sock and lifted his other foot repeating the motions before she let it drop back to the floor with his knees bent over the edge of the bed. When he still showed no effort to move, she reached down and unbuckled his belt. "You're not going to make me do the whole thing, are you?" She knew he was, only because he had already begun to softly snore as she popped the button on his jeans and loosened the zipper. She felt herself flush with embarrassment and chided herself for being silly. She had been a married woman; this wasn't something she hadn't seen before. Still, it felt awkward and embarrassing as she slid the jeans off his body, pulling hard until they complied leaving him lying across the bed in his silk shirt and, she laughed, his boxers. She hadn't thought of him as a boxer man, but there they were, plain as day, boxers with big brown dogs all over them. Cute. Karen leaned over him and began to unbutton his shirt when he rolled again to his side, his arm passing through the air and over her back, taking her with him as he turned. She tumbled to the bed, sprawled over his body sideways; pushing herself free of his arm that was dead weight over her.
