Epilogue

Standing between Senator Bob Taylor of Tennessee and a few rows behind the general's children - Lucy, Annie, Joseph and Carrie - Lou heard the distant tribute. As she listened, her eyes fixed on her husband's bowed gray head, tears came from her eyes and a smile to her lips.
