Chapter 7

Physiological Problems

Environment or Heredity

Prenatal Exposure

Prenatal exposure to drugs or alcohol affects the development of the infant's brain. Brain scans have been taken of prenatal exposed children and they find incomplete development of the neurological system. Mood swings, temper tantrums and other bizarre behavior can be the results.

Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome

We usually associate this with military personnel and battlefields; well, one of our children was diagnosed with it when the therapist discovered he was shot in the back at an early age. Once diagnosed, then it can be worked on so the behavioral problems can be eliminated or at least reduced.
