Quiet and Learning Time
Learning is a process. It's like climbing a hill. We need a plateau to rest every now and then. We need to assimilate what has been accomplished and apply this new knowledge often before we can absorb more information.
Many of these children have lived in highly stimulating environments and usually experiencing negative activities. We try to keep things on an even keel.
I try to keep a jigsaw puzzle out, magazines to look at, encourage trips to the library, etc., just to keep the activity pace lower. Over-activity does not equal growth.
