As Sean turned to head back to the kitchen, Juliana's door slowly opened and, in a clear soft voice she answered: "I'm almost ready for that cup of coffee."
After thirty seconds of silence, Sean turned again and was surprised to see Juliana walking into the kitchen fully dressed for a cold adventure.
She stopped at the coffeepot, poured a cup, and with her back to Sean said, "I see I didn't need to wake you at 7 a.m." She sipped her cup and, trying not to grimace, added, "but I do think that next time you should wait for me to make the coffee."
"OK," Sean frowned, "I know I always make it weak."
"Yes, and there's nothing useful about a weak cup of coffee," retorted Juliana. "In my home the coffee was always strong, sometimes strong enough to hold up your spoon. This stuff couldn't even wake my mouth, not to mention the rest of my body." Juliana sat down, while Sean remained standing on the other side of the table.
"Now, tell me again, why is it that we are going on this nature walk? You know we could be preparing for the cruise ship investigation," complained Juliana, making obvious her displeasure at being dragged on this glacier walk.
Sean sat down too. "It's simple, my dear; we are going to practice our marriage." He looked at her face, noticing that she looked the same as the night before, beautiful, yet without much makeup. "And we can do some detective work, too."
