Target Alaska A Natural Wilderness

Sean was up first and had already filled the cabin with the aroma of dark-roasted coffee, percolating as he hummed an Irish jig. He preferred adding a little cream to the cup but had to settle for the dry non-dairy product. Sean enjoyed his morning coffee; the aroma reminded him of breakfast with his mother, a feisty woman with simple features, who could hold her own in conversation, and, for that matter, in drinking, with any man in town. Mornings with her fueled his mind and spirit. It was her passion for life, and her spirit, which inspired him to join the Irish Republican Army, something that displeased her greatly.

Sean recalled how easily she expressed her emotions - sometimes hugging him in public and others giving him a good swift kick in the rear for some mischievous thing he did.

Sean thought aloud, "There's a huge difference between my mother and my partner. Now I find myself playing mother to a girl I don't even know. In addition, the agency wants me to play husband! Where else do you get the opportunity to play mother, husband and partner all at the same time!"

The repeated beeping of an alarm clock coming from Juliana's room interrupted Sean's train of thought.

"I guess it's 7 a.m." Sean shouted toward the room, slyly hoping Juliana would hear him and realize that he was already up. He walked closer to her door to be sure she heard him now. "I have some coffee and was about to make some eggs and toast for you. Are you hungry?"
