Target Alaska Ring of Rings

Juliana drove past the docks and saw a cruise ship, full of passengers, berthed at the pier. She parked the car near the ship terminal and went into the public restroom to change into a dark stretch outfit. Before leaving, she checked to be sure that her mask and sampling equipment were safely tucked away in her coat pocket. Looking like a different person, she walked back to the parking lot, placed the bag of clothing in her car and headed to the pier.

The ship that had been at the pier only minutes earlier had now left, leaving the pier deserted except for a few service people and their equipment. She was gratified to see two trucks still on the pier, just as she and Sean had found them the day before. Julie walked slowly but deliberately along the pier, keeping an eye on the nearest truck and any service people in the area. When she reached the first truck, she let out a long sigh. There was no one around, allowing her a moment to gather enough courage to jump into the back. Finding nothing, she thought, "They must have put more drums on board the ship that left here."

She jumped down and swung around to the front of the truck. The second truck was directly ahead and she quickly began to cross over to the rear of that truck. Suddenly she froze at the sound of approaching footsteps. She looked to either side, but there was no place to hide. To retreat would put her directly in the path of those approaching, and to continue further down the pier might force her into the water. She had only one choice. She climbed into the back of the second truck, closed the doors, waited and listened.
