Clutching his new number 13 jersey, Rico stepped to the microphone to speak.
"I am glad to be playing for the Combers, said Valley. I've always wanted to play for a winning team and now I'm getting that chance".
Stud watched the pree conference from Sid and Ray's, where he was playing pool with his three friends, Rosie, Kristen and Lisa.
Though she was much older than him, Rosie was the one that Stud wanted to be with the most. Unfortunately, Rosie had given her heart to Sid 23 years and two grown children ago and she wasn't ready to reposse it. Though he was disappointed it couldn't be more, Stud was satisfied with their platonic relationship.
As for the other two, although he liked them as friends, he could never be romantically involved with them because Kristen reminded him of his sister and Lisa reminded him of his mother.
"Anybody want a brew"? asked Rosie, approaching the three of them with a pitcher and three frosted mugs.
"In a second," said Stud who was getting ready to break.
"What does Valley's coming here mean to you"? asked Rosie filling the three mugs.
Rosie thought of Stud as her third son.
"Probably nothing, replied Stud as he lined up his shot. They just to punch up our bench".
Stud made his shot, sending the white cue ball careening into the other balls, scattering them over the table.
