Chapter 6 - Page 2 of 5

"I don't know, admitted Silvers. I'm a baseball man not a criminologist.

However, I don't think we should be reading to much into this. The only thing we should be thinking about is beating the Shellfish. By the way, the Shellfish have announced a change in starting pitchers. Scott Sharpe will be going instead of Willie Wobbles."

"What about our line up"? asked Stud who was in the process of wolfing down his third hotdog.

"Our line up is staying the same," replied Silvers.

Stud felt relieved to lean that he was remaining in the starting line up, though there was no reason why he should have been taken out. He hit Sharpe the way Joan Crawford hit children.

As the Combers were taking the field for their game against the Shellfish, Ivory, Reynold, and Schurman were in Ivory's office discussing the case over lousy coffee and stale doughnuts.

"The best starting point would be to compare the two murders," said Ivory.

"Good idea, agreed Reynolds. Our first victim was Jericho Green Valley,26.

He was murdered in his home with an electrical cord tied around his neck.

His arms were both cut off. Neither the arms or weapon used to cut them off have been found."

"What do you think the significance of cutting his arms off is"?

interrupted Ivory.

"Well, interjected Schurman. Valley was an outfield who used his arms to catch and through. Maybe somebody is sending a message about the way he played the outfield".
