"You're out"! roared the Umpire.
The crowd booed as Stud picked himself off the ground and walked back to the dugout.
"Who told you to try and steal second"? demanded a baffled Silvers
" I thought I could make it," explained stud glumly.
"Don't think, snapped Silvers. Just listen."
The crowd roared with delight as Wurtten, with two outs in the bottom of the fifth, hit a homer run to give the Combers a 3-2 lead over the Swordfish. The inning ended when Peppers struck out.
In the top of the seventh, Swordfish shortstop Corey Curry led off with an easy fly ball to right. Unfortunately Stud lost the ball in the lights for a three base error. Stud felt something hit him in the back of the head as fans in the right field stands began pelting him with batteries and other small objects. The error resulted in a six run inning for the Swordfish.
Billy Ferguson led off the Combers half of the eighth with a single.
Stud followed by hitting into a 6-4-3 double play. Boos rained down on Stud like fire and Brimstone from Sodom and Gomorrah as he returned to the dug out.
The Swordfish loaded the bases on a hit and two walks in their half of the ninth. Stud lost another ball in the lights, allowing all three runners to score. The Combers ended up losing 14-3.
