Tom Reynolds didn't normally read the society page in the newspaper.
Normally he stuck to the sports, comics and front page in that order.
But today there was an item on that page which caught his attention.
"Elena Maria St. Johns, wife of Beach Combers owner Ralph Wallace St. Johns, is due to give a deposition in her impending divorce today. Ms. St. Johns or Ms. Levinson as she is now calling herself, is expecting the divorce to be a hard fought one due to the fact that she is demanding two thirds of his estimated $850 million fortune and he only wants to give her more than the 90 million dollars promised to her in their pre nuptial agreement. The couple have three grown children, Denise Abernathy, Ralph Jr. and Suzanne Whitbee as well was seven grandchildren".
Reynolds wasn't sure if this had anything to do with the murders, but he wanted to check it out anyway. So he tore the article out and put it in the breast pocket of his jacket.
Linda Reynolds, who read only the society page, was chagrined to see what her husband did.
"Tom, complained Linda, sitting down at the table. Couldn't you have waited until I read the society page before you cut out whatever it was you cut out"?
"Not really, answered Tom, giving her a kiss. This article might be pertinent to a case I'm working on. Kate and Tommy if you two want a ride to school let's go".
