Aurora Ghosts

The fourth floor seems to be the most haunted. It's the old servant's quarters. Many times in the early morning hours you may be woke by the sound of children playing outside your door, but when you check, there are no children.

The hotel was built in 1909. It was an ultra luxurious summer resort, complete with running hot and cold water, electricity and telephones in the rooms. No expense was spared. Today it is still considered a luxury hotel, and many well known people choose to stay there. Today the room rates run anywhere from 139/night to 1250.00 /night in the winter and 279-1500/night in the summertime.

The original owners, F.O and Flora Stanley are still in residence there. You may run into Mr. Stanley in the lobby, or playing the piano in the music room, or playing billiards in the billiard room. Of course, it might bother some that Mr. Stanley passed away a number of years ago…
