Aurora Ghosts

If you are ever in Aurora Colorado, head out of town to Smokey Hill Road, heading east until you come to the stop sign. Turn left and drive until you come to the third bridge. If you stop on the bridge and get out of the car, you may hear drums. If you get noisy and rowdy, the drums will get louder and closer, and you may see fog rolling in fast from both sides of the bridge.
It's said that an Indian massacre took place here when settlers killed all the men in battle, they then returned to kill all the women and children. Sometimes you may see a man on horseback, nothing unusual in Colorado, however if you look a little closer, the horses hooves never quite touch the ground and he just vanishes in front of your eyes.

I love going up to Estes Park, about an hour west of Denver. I'm sure a lot of us have seen the movie, The Shining. Stephen King was staying in room 217 at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, when he was inspired to write "The Shining". I have heard that King spent 5 months living at the Stanley Hotel while he wrote the book. Whether or not it's true, I can't say. It's one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever been in! It reeks of old world elegance. I love it!

If you ever get the chance to stay there, try to get room # 418, it's one of the most active rooms. Lights go on and off at will, you hear people talking, yet no one is there. Some have been wakened in the night when they felt someone sit down on the side of the bed, yet no one is there. Another very active room is #407.
