Halloween Night On Halloween night, we planned a surprised party for my mother's 46th birthday. I invited her to go to the movies with me. During our absence, Edwith, Sherley, and Giani decorated the house. We invited some close friends to the party, provided they wore masks.
When we got home, my mother was surprised to see the outside of the house decorated and the inside of house dark. I let her step ahead to open the door. As she tried to open the door, the door opened itself. I smiled slyly and Giani howled from inside. Then we all yelled, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN!"
The lights turned on. At the doorstep, Garvey stood with a smile and a bunch of flowers.
"Happy birthday!"
"It's time to party!" Giani yelled his throat out among the crowd.
Music played. I danced with Peggy. My mother, of course, danced with Garvey. Jack danced with Joan, a new girl who he met the night of the party.
Sherley danced with a skinny, unmasked, ugly young man around her age. I presumed he was her boyfriend. And Edwith danced with Mike, who was already drunk.
Reggie was somewhere among the crowd, and Patrick stood in a corner drinking his beer. Giani bobbed his head to the music.
Sophie, Peggy's friend, went to Giani.
"Do you wanna dance or something?"
"Me?" Giani looked around to make sure that Sophie was addressing him.
"Why not?"
