Chapter 11 - Page 2 of 3

Scary Movies

Kate laughed. A volcano was no big deal? Gina's words sounded funny. But, if Gina managed to calm Scream down, that was good. It would make the day go by a lot smoother. "He's good at screaming even though I told him he has nothing to scream about. We have been telling each other jokes, although his are kind of old-fashioned. I didn't realize that an old painting would be so much fun."

Kate eyed Scream just a few feet away. He was saying something that must have been really funny. The other kids were laughing with him. He had only taken a few minutes to make himself comfortable here. In fact, Kate believed that Scream had achieved instant popularity. She was a little surprised by it all. But Scream was a popular painting anyway. Most people would just think he was a screamer. Maybe he was that minute when he saw that red sky in his painting. But, he was more than that. Nobody screams all the time. Even the Scream doesn't.

Gina stopped talking and suddenly became serious. She seemed deep in thought for a few minutes. "I wonder," whispering as she looked back at Mona Lisa behind them. "If her dress could disappear like that, can she do that too? I mean, she probably doesn't know how to do it, but it could happen, right?"

"I guess so. Maybe we just have to wait it out." Kate said.
