Chapter 2

Even in her dreams she could still hear the soft sound of her silencer and the thump of a man as he falls to the ground and his life, his dreams and all that he was slowly fades away. Only in her dreams did she have any form of remorse for her actions. With each new job contract came a new nightmare to bear and weigh upon her soul. Over and over the scenes would play out, only she was always the one on the other end of the muzzle facing death. Still deep in her drunken delusion she could heard her name being called forcing her back from her own personal Hell of redemption.

"Aurora….Aurora," she heard in a far off voice. "Aurora….AURORA!" the voice cried out again, even bolder this time until her reddened eyes fluttered open. There standing over her was a familiar figure.

"Aurora, get your ass up!"

"Ah…what?" she said glancing through wisps of dark hair lying across her face before closing her eyes once again.

"What, get up…..what the hell are you doing here?"

"Well, because you live here dear sister."

"Yes, I live here but you don't……what are you doing on my couch….and drunk off your ass?"

"Ah…..your place was closer," Aurora said with a slight grin.

"Closer to what?"

"Ummm…..the nightclub scene…….God Athena, what do you want from me?"

"Well for one thing, you could put on your pants and a shirt too!" she said in higher tone trying not to lose her composure in front of her nearly nude sister.

Sitting up on the couch, Aurora looked down at herself in nothing more than her black panties. "Oh I guess I should put something on….what do you think?" she said still in a half drunken state.

"Ah yeah….the girls will be up any minute now for school and they really don't need to see their aunt laying here nude, drunk and………"

"All fucked up," Aurora said with a silly half grin.

"Yeah….dumb ass."

"Hey I'll kick your ass little sister," Aurora said trying to stand.

"Bitch, you couldn't even find you own ass right now."

"Maybe you're right and don't call me bitch, you know I hate that." the drunk woman said trying to steady herself and look for her jeans that were nowhere in sight.

"Look, please just go into the bathroom before the girls come down the stairs and see you like this…..please," Athena said as she tried to escort her sister into the downstairs restroom just as her two kids made their way from the top of the steps to the lower level. As seven year old Tammy and her baby sister Jacky moved through the living room into the kitchen, they were unaware that their aunt was in the house let alone in the state of drunken bliss she was consumed in.
