Chapter 5

His home was a virtual fortress, complete with wall guards and electric fences surrounding the 55 room stronghold. Jose Mendoza, number one public enemy of every law enforcement agency in South Miami Beach. The man was completely untouchable by both Miami Vice and DEA who could not bring him down by any means. He had moved his product from South Florida to New York with such ease that rumors began to rise that he had both The DEA and The Vice Squads in his pocket. He may have been untouchable by the means of the law but not for someone working outside the rules the law must obey by. Thus this was to be score number one as Aurora saw it.

She knew damn well that making a hit at the house was near impossible with all its defenses unless she went for the sniper approach. Even then, the grounds surrounding the house would be a hard try since that too was protected well by his men. Besides, to gain the point it would have to be a high profile assassination, one that would be covered by the news and a hit in his home would not make the huge media impact that she needed. No, it would have to be a public hit and one where many people play witness.

She had heard that Mendoza liked a little strip club on the far side of Miami Beach and was seen there from time to time. With a little luck, he would visit this location within the next three days for her to use him as her first score. He would be nothing less than the ideal score and by removing him, she would do something that no one else was able to do. That and she hated drug dealers.

The contest started on a Friday and so there was a good chance that Mendoza may, just may be going out that night she thought. She knew for the maximum amount of impact, that she had to do the deed inside the club. In and out she would have to be. Fast and spirit like to be able to score him and make it out alive. Sure, she could have went for another target altogether but no one would have the effect as Mendoza would. Being outside his compound, he would have a lesser amount of man coverage. Most likely only the amount that could fit into a limo was all he would have with him. This would be to her favor as a surprise attack could take out his men before they even knew what the hell was going on. Still it had to be planned out and timed just right.
