Adrenalin For Success

"Sweetheart," Keith said softly. A smile lit up my face as I him heard him call me, sweetheart. "It's time to get up."

I yawned as I slowly opened my eyes. "Already?"

"Yeah, its 10:55 and we have to meet James in twenty minutes."

I sat up and stretched. I glanced over at Keith who had already changed into the outfit he was wearing earlier. He now had the scruffy, haven't shaved yet look. He looked good, damn good. "Mmm . . . I could have slept another ten hours. I haven't slept that peacefully in a long time."

He bit his lip. "I got up a little while go. I, uh, went down to Medical and got you some aspirin so your arm wouldn't bother you."

I ran my fingers through my hair, tucking it behind my ears. I saw the bottled water and aspirin on the table beside the cot. "That's so sweet. Thanks, babe." He smiled and I smiled back at him. I grabbed the water, twisted the cap off and swallowed the pills. He sat down beside me and I leaned against him. "I'm a little worried that something will go wrong."

He wrapped his arms around me and I rested my head on his shoulder. "We'll just make sure that doesn't happen," he said quietly.

I kissed him softly. "I'll meet you on the floor."

"Yah." He kissed me and then I put my shoes on and headed to the locker room. I changed into a light blue sweater, jeans and boots. I again put the vest on and was going to put on my jacket when I remembered that it had a bullet hole in it. "Crap," I muttered aloud. Now what? Amy! She had a similar jacket and I knew her locker combo, so I opened her locker and slipped it on. I put the phone, PDA, and a pair of gloves in the pockets. I reloaded my gun and holstered it. I grabbed the brush out of my locker and brushed my hair into a tight bun.
