Chapter 4 - Page 2 of 6

"Well breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and since this is a big day, I figured we should start it right."

"This is definitely the way to start it right. Did you get any sleep?" I asked concerned that he would be exhausted.

"As much as you," he winked at me and I laughed. "I had most of this ready. Kenny brought everything by. I just had to make breakfast."

"You're so sweet, I love it. Thank you." I kissed him again.

He wrapped his arms around me and kissed me gently. "You're welcome; you know I'd do anything to see you smile."

We sat down and ate the strawberry pancakes and bacon with coffee. We talked about the wedding and our plans of what we were going to do while in Hawaii.

"That was delicious, babe," I said as I sipped the coffee.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it." Keith took my hand in his as he bit his lip. "I had something I was going to give you later today but there may not be enough time later, so..." He reached into his pant pocket and pulled out a black jewelry box. He then handed it to me.

I opened the box to find a gold locket. I gently opened the clasp; inside was a picture from the weekend Keith had proposed. Thinking back I remembered how we had spent a romantic weekend at secluded hotel on the beach. The first night we had a picnic on the beach and watched the sunset. It was then after a walk down by shore that he had popped the question. The picture was of us sitting on the blanket, arms around each other. He had held the camera out in front of us and snapped the picture as he kissed my cheek.
