Chapter 4 - Page 1 of 6

The next morning I woke to the smell of pancakes. I glanced at the clock: 5:25, and was about to groan and mumble about it being too early, but I quickly remembered today was the day. I could easily get by on four hours of sleep; energy now running through me at the excitement to come later, I rolled over and found a rose on my pillow and a note.

Good morning Beautiful, Surprise for you in the kitchen when you're ready. Love you I jumped out of bed and quickly took a shower. I then got dressed and decided on blue jeans and a light blue tee. No reason to get dressed up for the office when we would be leaving to go into the field. I dried my hair with a towel and brushed it out. I then grabbed the rose on the bed and I walked out of the bedroom, turned right and headed towards the dining room.

A smile lit up my face as I walked into the room. The floor was sprinkled with rose petals and a dozen red roses were in a vase in the center of the table. Keith had just set breakfast on the table. He was wearing blue jeans and a long sleeve plain brown shirt.

"Sweetheart, you never cease to amaze me. This is so beautiful." I walked over to him and gave him a kiss and hug.
