Chapter 4

If Ambie noticed the sarcasm, it certainly didn't show. She was busy humming some awful country tune and setting up shop. She was sitting up old Barbie Dolls dawning miscellaneous homemade crocheted outfits, as char turned her attention to a man who had just appeared in the doorway of the rental office. With what looked like a cowbell in one hand and a cup of beer in the other he raised the arm with the bell and began to shake, while yelling, "Chows On! Come an Get it!" "Shit!" Ambie exclaimed, "They don't even give us time to set up and protect our investments"..she continued on ..."tell you what, you go on first and then I'll go after you get back. I got some valeeable stuff here, and don't want it disappearin' if ya know what I mean..." Ambie gave Char a knowing wink as she said it. "What?" Char said incredulously. "You want me to help sell you're....." She couldn't finish. She looked over at Ambie, and saw this hurt look creep across her face. She sighed and reasoned to herself, "Well" She heard herself say.."You did help me unpack yesterday...OK, I'd be glad to help." With that, Ambie immediately recovered and nodded her approval. She said..."Good for us then, we're a team now!"

Char did the best she could to smile and enthusiastic smile and turned to walk toward the door. She resisted the incredible urge to race there.
