Biography: Robert Hugh Benson (1871-1914) was an English writer and Catholic clergyman. He was the son of an Archbishop and eventually became privy chamberlain to Pope Pius X. Talented in many genres, he wrote science fiction, historical fiction, children's books and devotionals. Novels include By What Authority? (1904), Necromancers (1909) and Paradoxes of Catholicism (1913).
