| Biography: | Rene Francois Nicolas Marie Bazin (1853-1932) was a French novelist known for his charming novels of provincial French life. He studied law in Paris, but went on to a career in writing, starting with the popular romantic novel Stephanette in 1884. Bazin received critical acclaim from the French Academy with the publication of his masterpiece, Une tache d'encre (The Ink-Spot, or, A Spot of Ink), released in 1888. |
