| Biography: | Popular mystery and detective novel author Melville Davisson Post (1871-1930) is best remembered for his Uncle Abner mysteries, featuring mysteries solved and justice served backwoods style. Born in West Virgnia, Post remained there all his life, earning a law degree from West Virginia University. Post was an avid horseman and also wrote Western novels, such as the romance Dwellers in the Hills (1901). |
