Biography: Louis Tracy (1863-1928) was born in Liverpool, England. He received a private education in Yorkshire and at the French Seminary at Douai, and joined the 1st Volunteer Batallion of the Yorkshire Regiment. In the late 1800s, he became a reporter and ultimately a biographer and romance novelist. A prolific writer, Tracy also collaborated with M.P. Shiel, with whom he sometimes shared the pseudonyms Gordon Holmes and Robert Fraser.
