| Biography: | Laurence Housman (1865-1959) was an English author and younger brother of the poet A.E. Housman. Educated as an artist, Housman first worked as an illustrator, but turned later to writing. His first successful novel, An Englishwomans Love-letters (1900), he published anonymously. A controversial playwright, his socialist and pacifist politics often caused scandals when staged. |
