Biography: American novelist Kathleen Thompson Norris (1880-1966) was the highest-paid female writer of her time. Many of her popular romance novels were set in her home state of California and describe the intimacies of an upper-class lifestyle. She married into a family of novelists, including husband Charles Norris and his brother Frank. Norris published over 80 books in her lifetime.
