Biography: Katharine Newlin Burt was an American novelist who lived in Wyoming most of her life. Her many western-themed stories reflect her experience homesteading with husband Maxwell Struthers Burt at the Bar BC Ranch near Moose, Wyoming in the early 1900s. A prolific writer, Burt published dozens of romance and western novels from 1910 to 1970.
