Biography: Son of Nathaniel Hawthorne, Julian Hawthorne was a successful writer as well. Popular from the first publication of his melodramatic Bressant in 1873, he went on to publish several other dramatic stories including his best-known novel Garth. He also penned several biographical and autobiographical books on his famous family.
