Biography: John Fox, Jr. (1862-1919) was an American writer who was born in Kentucky, studied at Harvard and became a reporter in New York. Although his reporting took him as far afield as Asia and Cuba, Fox is known for his bestselling historical romance novels that reflect his childhood in the Kentucky Bluegrass region, and his life with the coal miners of Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
