| Biography: | A true character of the Old West, Jackson Gregory was born in Salinas, California in 1882. He taught in California schools before becoming a journalist and later novelist. His best-known stories are action-packed westerns, although many include elements of romance, fantasy, and mystery as well. His first western was The Outlaw (1916), and he continued to produce 1-3 westerns a year until his death in 1943. Some novels were published posthumously, such as the final novel, Hardcase Range (1958). |
