| Biography: | Holman Francis Day (1865-1935) was an American author from Maine. A newspaperman, he was editor, proprietor, and writer for papers throughout Maine and the Boston Herald as well. His Maine roots show in novels rich with descriptions of the land and waters of the New England coast. Several of his novels were dramatized as plays, such as Squire Phin and Along Came Ruth. |
