| Biography: | Henry de Vere Stacpoole was born in 1863 in Kingstown Ireland, protected and directed in life by his single mother and his three older sisters. He trained as a doctor; but, he preferred writing. His many novels drew upon his experience as a doctor on several tropical sea voyages as well as his experiences as a country doctor. |
