Biography: Henry Rider Haggard (1856-1925) was an English novelist known for his exotic adventure novels. An early adulthood in Africa inspired the African settings of many of his novels. Popular for frontier adventures like King Solomon's Mine (1885) and the entire Allan Quatermain series, Haggard wrote novels infused with African lands and cultures.
